Dementia affects everyone differently. But having the right support really can make life easier. And now there’s a simple way to find that support – with Dementia Connect, a specialist, personalised service provided by Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia charity.
Here’s how it works. Once your GP has referred you to them, one of their expert Dementia Advisors will get in touch. They’ll talk to you, and your family or carer, about your needs and the things that matter most to you. Then they’ll connect you to the right support that can help you maintain your independence, health and enjoyment of life. This operates across Pennine/East Lancashire, including Blackburn and Darwen.
Dementia Advisors can provide information on things such as;
- Dementia and driving
- Keeping involved and active
- Keeping safe in your home
- Living alone
- Managing your money
- Talking to children
- What your diagnosis means for you
- Who are all these health professionals?
